Nayyar Afroz, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adolescent populations. At Spectrum Behavioral Health in Hinsdale and New Lenox, Illinois, Dr. Afroz is renowned for her extensive expertise and compassionate approach to mental health care. 

After graduating from Dow Medical College in Pakistan, Dr. Afroz embarked on a journey dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals through psychiatry. She relocated to the United States and pursued a residency at the University of Illinois Chicago campus, followed by a prestigious fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Chicago. 

With over 17 years of clinical experience across private, community, and public sector roles, she has established herself as a trusted practitioner in the field.

Dr. Afroz uses a multifaceted approach to therapy, integrating insight-oriented, interpersonal mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to address several mental health concerns. Her passion lies in supporting young adults and adults grappling with mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma, drawing from her experience working with people from many cultural backgrounds.
