Semone West, MD, is an exceptional psychiatrist, board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. Dr. West provides expert-level care and dedication to patients at Spectrum Behavioral Health in Hinsdale and New Lenox, Illinois.

Her journey in psychiatry began with her medical education at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She then completed a psychiatry residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she also served as an associate professor.

Currently, Dr. West serves as the medical director and chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center in Hinsdale, Illinois, where she continues to make significant contributions to the field. 

With over 18 years of experience, Dr. West provides psychiatric care in many settings, including inpatient treatment, residential care, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, community-based treatment, and private practice.

Dr. West characterizes her approach to psychiatric care through a holistic perspective, encompassing medical, psychological, developmental, and social factors to inform treatment decisions. She specializes in treating trauma, substance misuse, self-injury, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention deficit disorders, and more.
